Humane society

This week I've been at the humane society camp. While I've been there I've learned a lot. We've had presentations on foster care, raising a guide dog, reptiles, guinea pigs, adopting a pet, dog safety, obedience, dog dancing, and more! I've also learned to love the animals there. Hero, a jack Russell Yorkie mix is one of my favorites. Yesterday, I learned that appearances aren't everything. When I took Hero out to the yards, he knew all sorts of tricks! He could dance, jump, sit, come, spin, and sometime roll over too! Hero, the little scruffy dog was trained! Then there's Moonshadow, who I love. He's on hold, so somebody's already adopting him. Moonshadow's a retriever-spaniel mix, so he has a sweet retriever attitude, with a spaniel's pretty body. There's all sorts of animals at the shelter. Meaning some sweet old dogs too. One day I took Amira out to the yards at dog time. She's a 11 year old German Shepard who's just a big sweetheart. It's so sad to think of animals that never will get adopted, I mean, a lot of animals will, but they'll be special dogs, and puppies, puppies, puppies. I mean who doesn't like a puppy? One of those ordinary, sruffy dogs is Broadie. Broadie is a smallish, balck mixed breed. He's one of those dog's you feel sorry for. One of the others is a Boxer that's on hold. Did I mention he has only 3 legs! Then there's the many cats at the shelter. My favorites are Spazz, (a 1 year old female who lives up to her name), Captain Hairball (he loves attention.), and Cora ( a little kitten.) Of course I've only seen two cages, and I love all the cats. Well, I have to go, the shelter's calling.
